Lunch mom-in-laws mutton curry (without coconut) prepared by Mel, it’s a family favourite πŸ˜‹. Served with rice, cauliflower stir fry & sliced carrots.

Its best to prepare this 1H before serving so that the gravy thickens.

Recipe:
πŸ”Έ1 kg mutton-2 big onions sliced, 2 medium tomatoes chopped, 2 -3 potatoes cubedπŸ”Έ 2 tsp each coriander & chilli powder-1 tsp each kashmiri chilli & garam masala powder-1/2 tsp cumin powder-1/4 tsp each pepper & cinnamon powder-1 beef/chicken bouillon or 1 tsp stock powder (optional)πŸ”Έ2 bay leaves-1/2 tsp shah jeera (black cumin seeds)-6 cloves – 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste πŸ”ΈSalt to taste,oil,water, coriander to garnish.
πŸ”₯ Pressure cook mutton by adding tomatoes, 1.5 cups water, little sliced onion, beef stock cube/powder, salt. Cook for 4 whistles or more depending on tenderness of the meat. Once all the pressure is released separate the pieces & the broth.
πŸ”₯Heat oil in a utensil add bay leaves, shah jeera, cloves fry until aromatic. Now add ginger garlic paste fry till raw smell goes off. Fry the onions until they start to brown add in all spice powders (except garam masala) fry this for couple of minutes.
πŸ”₯Add the cubed potatoes, coat it well with the masala fry this for 2 mins, pour in the mutton broth cook until potatoes are 80% done. Mix in the mutton pieces , garam masala , check salt adjust gravy thickness if needed cover and cook until potatoes are completely cooked. Garnish with chopped coriander & serve.
